Financial Assistance

Committee Goals 2007 / 2008

 

The mission of the Financial Assistance Committee is to make a difference on as many small projects as possible. 

 

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR EACH FUNDING REQUEST:

  1. Does the request benefit the youth of Arcata and/ or the surrounding community? 

  2. Does the request benefit disadvantaged youth? 

  3. Does the request reflect a diverse project for youth or the community?

  4. Is this a one time request? 

  5. Is the request from a non-profit or non-service organization?

The General Considerations listed above were offered by Committee Members to act as discussion points only.  A consensus among the Committee Members expressed a hope that each funding request will be considered on its own merit without being bound to any specific category, age group, or requirement.

 

 

DELIBERATION PROCESS:

 

A consensus of the Committee voted to continue the practice from last year of evaluating most of the funding requests via email.  This was found to be the most efficient method of communication to evaluate requests and disperse funds in a timely manner.
